Mike graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington, in 1992. He was the Senior Managing Editor for the Indiana Law Journal and was awarded membership into the Order of the Coif, an honorary legal scholastic society whose membership is limited to the top 10 percent of each graduating class.

Mike is a 1977 cum laude graduate of Butler University, which he attended on academic and debate scholarships. He also served as the Interfraternity Council President at Butler.

Mike began his legal career in 1992 at the Indianapolis law firm of Lowe Gray Steele & Hoffman, where he practiced primarily in the areas of labor and employment law. He then relocated to Chicago to practice with the traditional labor law firm Matkov, Salzman, Madoff & Gunn before returning to Indianapolis in 1996 to start Easter & Cavosie with his longtime friend—first as high-school debate rivals then as college debate partners—Greg Easter.

Mike has spoken on numerous construction, labor, and employment law topics at seminars sponsored by the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, Lorman Education Services, the National Business Institute, and HalfMoon Seminars. In addition, Mike enjoys giving presentations to his clients on topics tailored to fit their needs.

Mike is a member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, the American Bar Association, the Construction and Surety Law Section of the Indiana Bar Association and a number of professional organizations, including the Indiana Construction Association and The Associated General Contractors of America. Mike, his wife Dana, and their three children reside in Irvington.
