Roy has over five years of experience as an estimator and project manager in the construction industry. Roy started as an assistant estimator for Milestone Contractors in its Columbus, Indiana office. After working for three years in the estimating department, Roy transferred out onto the field crews. Roy worked as a Project Coordinator on the State Road 46 widening project in Batesville, IN for the Indiana Department of Transportation. After the State Road 46 project was complete, Roy worked as a foreman on several smaller street reconstruction and new site development projects.

After working for Milestone for four years, Roy became an estimator and project manager for Dave O’Mara Contractors located in North Vernon, Indiana. While at O’Mara, Roy managed numerous public and private projects. He worked with several trades, including earthwork, asphalt paving, concrete work, underground utilities, and horizontal boring. Roy’s main focus was on new school and reconstruction projects, apartment buildings, road construction, underground utilities, and commercial buildings. During his last year of law school, Roy worked in Valparaiso University’s civil law clinic helping low income families on a variety of legal matters.

Roy graduated with distinction in 2002 from Purdue University at IUPUI with a Bachelor of Science degree. Roy graduated from the Valparaiso University School of Law in 2005. After his first year of law school, Roy clerked in a small general practice that also served as the attorney for several local municipalities in northwest Indiana. During the Spring of 2004, Roy clerked for Judge Nudelman in Chicago, for the Cook County Superior Court. Judge Nudelman’s court heard mainly business and contract law issues.

Roy is a member of the Indiana Subcontractors Associates serving on the Education Committee, legal counsel for NUCA (National Utility Contractors Association) and serves on the Special Issues Committee, the Associated General Contractors and the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.

Roy and his wife, April, reside in Fishers with their two children, Madeline and Nash.
